I am a seasoned IT professional with experience in a wide variety of areas in the business. My core skills are Database Administration and Development, and general System Administration for various platforms. If you are wondering, LdB is short for Lope de Barrios, my surname.
For the past two decades, I've been working mostly with RDBMS. Along the way, I helped design, code, implement and manage databases for small, medium and large organizations. The vast majority of my knowledge is tied to Microsoft SQL Server, but also from time to time I had the chance to enrich my set of tools working on projects involving MySQL, MariaDB and PostgresSQL databases.
After working as DBA and DBE for many years, I became familiar with the System Administration concepts and their best practices. In order to properly install, manage and configure Database software, I slowly picked up the knowloedge needed from the IT Infrastructure side. A few years back, I started my current role as Manager in an Infrastructure Team, where I consolidated my experience as Sysadmin, and I am constantly incorporating new tools and platforms.
